Mr. Yeren-Ulzii Batmunkh is senior officer in charge of integrated policy and planning in the Strategic Policy and Planning Department at the Ministry of Energy of Mongolia. The Ministry of Energy is a government body responsible for power sector policies and planning. The policy areas under this Ministry include: development of power generation utilities; fuel supply; power transmission distribution; import and export of electricity; energy conservation; renewables; sector monitoring; approving rules and regulations for the sector; and international cooperation.
Prior to his role at the ministry, he worked in research at implementing agencies under the ministry and was a specialist in the field of power supply and demand projection, feasibility studies of new projects and power system extension plan of the country.
He obtained a Bachelor's degree in Power System Automatization at the University of Science and Technology of Mongolia and a Master's degree in Energy Policy Planning at the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia.
